Say you’re finally leaving a job that you’ve had for the past ten years.
You’ve done a lot in that job and while you could do more, it was an exhausting job that literally aged you 20 years.
But, you know, your place of employment has pretty regular turnover, so it’s time to leave.
And they’ve just hired someone.
You sat in on all their interviews,
their resume and cover letter were….so much less than yours.
And you remember all the work you put into to tailoring that beautiful resume, writing that brilliant cover letter
and you see the not-work this new person has put into theirs.
And you remember all the shit and muck you’ve had to fight through to get this job
and you see all the shit and muck they didn’t have to fight through to get this job
and they get the same job (shocker). The same title (shocker). The same pay (shocker). The same benefits (shocker).
But you have to leave. But there’s nothing you can do.
At this job.
On to the next one.
